DANIDA
Denmark is supporting Kosovo through the Programme of: "Employment Promotion through Business and Skills Development 2008-2012.
- Focus for the Danish assistance is three Components of:
1: "Support to Agribusinesses,
2: Improving Employability of youth, and
3: Improving access to financial services. The Danish support will seek to address one of the most urgent issues in Kosovo; that of high unemployment, which threatens to undermine peace and reconciliation efforts in a still deeply divided and conflictual society. Operationalising support aimed at reducing unemployment levels will require a multifaceted approach, in which reviving sustainable economy growth is a key pre-requisite as is strengthening the human resource base in Kosovo.
- Denmark has provided substantial assistance to Kosovo since the cessation of hostilities in 1999, initially supporting the reconstruction efforts and later with more Long-term development assistance. The Danish Assistance is provided through theDanish International Development Assistance, DANIDA which is a part of the Danish Ministry of Foreign Affairs
